On November 26, the 4th Belt and Road Broadcasting Science and Technology Development Forum, hosted by Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, was successfully held in Beijing as an online event. With the theme of “enhance cooperation and promote innovation in science and technology”, this forum actively implements the national initiative of “One Belt, One Road” as well as the crucial instructions delivered by President Xi Jinping at the 3rd symposium on the construction of “One Belt, One Road”. It aims to promote extensive cooperation between radio and television technology enterprises in Beijing and countries along the Silk Road, and to promote related enterprises to develop international markets. During the same period, a live webcast was held to promote the products from Beijing’s radio and television technology enterprises. Based on the webcast, twelve companies from Beijing’s broadcast and network audio-visual technology industry introduced their latest technology products and solutions online.

Yang Peili, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, delivered a speech for the forum. Mei Jianping – Executive Deputy Director of the Key State Laboratory of Ultra HD Video and Audio Production from China Media Group, He Fei – Deputy Director of News and Public Relations Department of China-ASEAN Center, Zheng Jianhua – Director of Overseas Promotion Department of Digital Audio & Video Coding Standard (AVS), Mao Ke – General Manager of Beijing Digital TV State Engineering Laboratory, Cao Jianghui – Vice President of Beijing Startimes Software Technology Co. Ltd., Xie Ning – Vice President of Base Media, Zhang Zhao – Product Director of GoChina TV, Yang Wei – Director of China Arab TV, Zhao Tianxiao – Technical Director of Overseas Center of Dayang Technology Development Inc. and other experts and entrepreneurs from the industry shared their achievements and experience in new technology application, overseas promotion and international cooperation in the fields of 5G, ultra-high definition, artificial intelligence, network audio-visual, special effects for film and television etc.
Khairat Musakulov – representative of Kazakhstan National Radio and Television Corporation, Nozim Jumayev – Deputy General Manager of Milliy TV in Uzbekistan, Nurdaulet Khopoev – Director of Times Film and Art Center of Kyrgyzstan Public Broadcasting Company and Elmara Tursynaliova – Editor-in-Chief of Radio Kirgiz were among the international representatives invited to address the audience.
In recent years, Beijing’s outstanding institutions and enterprises in the field of radio, television and internet audio-visual have cooperated extensively with countries along the “Belt and Road” and have achieved valuable experience and fruitful results. In her speech, Yang Peili pointed out that in the face of the complex situation of the world’s unprecedented changes and the intertwined global pandemic of Covid-19, the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, as the administrative department of Beijing broadcast and Network Audiovisual, will actively promote and support enterprises to cooperate with countries along the Silk Road in terms of technology, talents and other aspects. Based on the actual situation in the capital and focusing on the “Two-Region” construction, the Bureau will give full play to the advantages of broadcasting technology, focus on the docking point of development strategies and the intersection of industry growth in each country, and promote the economic, social and cultural development of the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.
It is learned that this forum focuses on three major focal points. First, focus on industry growth, and strive to create an authoritative release platform. The forum brings together broadcast and network audiovisual and related industry authorities and industry representatives, bringing the most authoritative and cutting-edge information on the development of radio and television technology in various regions and fields, and issuing the most mainstream voice of the industry. Second, focus on the frontier of science and technology, and strive to build an international exchange platform. The forum brings together industry and academia to discuss advanced philosophy, promote academic exchanges, complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and plan for more scientific and technological innovation and cooperation in line with the needs of the times. Third, focus on the implementation of projects, and strive to build an international service platform. To give full play to the demonstration and leading role of Beijing as a national cultural center, strengthen the support and guidance for the creation of “One Belt, One Road” content; build a platform for the promotion of film and TV dramas to the outside world, organize Beijing’s TV organizations and technology enterprises to participate in IBC and other important overseas festivals and exhibitions, and further improve the international influence and appeal of industry enterprises.
As an important part of this forum, the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau has taken an innovative initiative to organize a total of twelve broadcast and network audiovisual technology enterprises in Beijing to participate in the Broadcasting Technology Product Promotion Event, including Sumavision, Dayang Technology Inc., Jishi Media, Shineon, Compunicate Technology Inc., Huaqing Weiye, Realmagic Technology Co., Ltd., Fxlion, Leadav, Telikou Technologies Co., Fineone and Yukuan Science Technology Co., Ltd. Companies promote their innovative products and technical solutions in the form of “livestream selling”, which builds a platform for international exchange and cooperation to promote the expansion of Beijing’s broadcast and network audiovisual technology enterprises to overseas markets and let more international customers recognize and understand their innovative products and technologies.
Broadcasting Technology Product Promotion Event
It has been successfully held for the fourth time since the 1st forum was held in 2018. Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau always takes the overall goal of serving the construction of “One Belt, One Road” and the high-quality development of radio and television, focuses on the key projects and tasks of “One Belt, One Road” of the country and the industry, actively participates in the construction of “One Belt, One Road”, and innovates the concept of “Go Out”. As a result, further international exchanges have been carried out and international communication capacity has been effectively improved. The Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau will continue to work together with the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”, uphold the principle of mutual consultation, construction and sharing, and contribute to the development of “Belt and Road” broadcast and network audio-visual technology.
