On November 4, TRON founder Justin Sun announced on Twitter that he attended the “NFT BUSAN 2021” online event held by the Busan government and Busan Blockchain Industry Association and sponsored by TRON. He will also be interviewed in the metaverse platform “Gather.town.”

TRON and “NFT BUSAN 2021” also jointly launched the NFT minting campaign of the Busan mascot, Budlers. This campaign will go live on November 4, where a total of 2,030 Budlers will be issued on the TRON blockchain. Attendants of this meeting can claim their Budler in the TronLink wallet after the event concludes.

As one of the few countries that widely embrace blockchain technology, ROK has always been spearheading the development of blockchain-powered finance. Early in 2017, finance-oriented blockchain services were introduced in ROK, where a new bill was passed later in March 2020 to provide a framework to legitimize and regulate cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency exchanges. South Koreans are more open to cryptocurrencies than those in other countries. It is quite common for the younger generation there to invest in, trade, and use cryptos, and at the same time, more and more physical stores are gradually accepting transactions and payments made with cryptos. As a blockchain haven, Busan has the potential to develop a global digital information ecosystem. It will also grow into a global financial hub for virtual assets step by step based on blockchain.

A sound ecosystem incorporating an underlying protocol, smart contracts, and a NFT and metadata storage system has been built on TRON’s MainNet, one of the largest blockchain-based operating protocols for decentralized applications. TRON’s previous partners include Samsung, Opera browser, and Swisscom, the blockchain subsidiary of Swisscom. As of now, the total number of accounts has exceeded 60 million and the number of transactions has reached 2.5 billion. On October 30, BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) was released, together with the launch of the TestNet. NFT of Busan’s mascot being sold on TRON attests to the Busan government’s endorsement of TRON as well as the influence of TRON and its founder Justin Sun in the blockchain industry.

It is reported that Justin Sun introduced the concept of “blockchain” as a “value network” into China, which established him as an early campaigner and practitioner of blockchain. He is known as the “industry trendsetter” in the crypto field, and had attracted public attention when he won a Warren Buffett charity lunch for a huge price.

As the largest NFT (Non-Fungible Token) event in ROK, “NFT BUSAN 2021” covers 13 sessions with the presence of 36 industry experts, serving as a platform for smooth communication among blockchain institutions that are not present due to the pandemic. This event is to be live-streamed on Gather Town.
