Quzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism announced promotional offers including free admission and discounts for the May Day holiday. On April 24-25, the city welcomed 20 out-of-town tourism ambassadors, 40 local ambassadors, and representatives from over 10 major media outlets for an immersive cultural tour titled “Song Dynasty Legacy, New Chapter of Quzhou Ancient Town”. Showcasing its 4,000-year history as the “Confucian Hub of Southeast China and Crossroads of Four Provinces”, Quzhou demonstrated innovative approaches to blending cultural heritage with modern tourism development.
During the May Day holiday, Quzhou’s municipal government canteen will offer discounted meal packages, provide free parking citywide, and supply unlimited mineral water and specialty pomelo drinks… Through this citywide “Spoiling Guests” campaign, Zhejiang’s Quzhou is transforming urban hospitality into a powerful engine for cultural and tourism development. On the eve of May Day, Quzhou adopted a multi-party collaboration model featuring government leadership, corporate participation, and public engagement. This approach has not only polished the city’s brand as “Quzhou – Southern Confucius’ Sacred Land, A City of Courtesy,” but also won acclaim from tourists nationwide through tangible, visitor-friendly initiatives.
Event venue bustling with a continuous flow of visitors
Since the release of Quzhou’s cultural tourism initiatives, the citywide “Guest Pampering” campaign has been swiftly implemented. In the core tourist area of Quzhou’s ancient city, caring enterprises have launched an “Unlimited Hu-you Juice for Tourists” activity, using this signature beverage and other local products to showcase authentic regional flavors. The daily distribution is expected to exceed 30,000 servings, with unlimited supplies available. Simultaneously, Gutianshan Mineral Water has generously donated 100,000 bottles to complement the Hu-you juice distribution. This coordinated effort forms a powerful “Guest Pampering” combination – quenching thirst while offering novel local tastes.
